Elderly brothers attacked in home by gang posing as police officers

Two elderly brothers were punched, hit with a bat and threatened with a knife at their home by three men claiming to be police officers.

CCTV footage has been released as police bid to trace three men

The three men knocked on the door in Waterloo Street, Tipton, at around 9pm on April 30 and told the victims their van was being broken into.

After forcing their way into the property, they punched the two victims – before hitting them with a bat and threatening them with a knife.

The offenders searched the house before eventually fleeing the scene, said West Midlands Police.

Both victims required hospital treatment after suffering broken noses.

West Midlands Police officers have now released CCTV footage in a bid to trace the three men.

The suspects are described as white between 5ft 10ins to 6ft tall. One of them had a short black beard.

Anyone with information is urged to call West Midlands Police on 101, quoting incident number 20SW/101469X/20.
