The three men knocked on the door in Waterloo Street, Tipton, at around 9pm on April 30 and told the victims their van was being broken into.

After forcing their way into the property, they punched the two victims – before hitting them with a bat and threatening them with a knife.

The offenders searched the house before eventually fleeing the scene, said West Midlands Police.

Both victims required hospital treatment after suffering broken noses.
