Man 'serious but stable' after street shooting
A man who suffered head injuries after being shot in Birmingham is in a serious but stable condition.
The 20-year-old victim was injured after a shot was fired from a car in Great Hampton Row, police believe.
The vehicle left the scene after the shooting which took place before 7pm yesterday. (May 12)
Now police have launched an appeal has been launched in a bid to track down the culprit – with the victim still in hospital.
A number of people are believed to have been in the area at the time, officers say.
Detective Inspector Jim Church, from the force's CID, said: "We're in the process of trying to establish the circumstances around this shooting.
"We've recovered CCTV from the area and enquiries to identify the car and gunman are under way.
"We know there were a number of people in the area at the time of the shooting who've not yet spoken to us.
"A young man has been left in a serious condition in hospital but with their help we can catch whoever was responsible."
It is the second shooting in three days in Birmingham, following a drive-by attack in Bordesley Green on Sunday where a man in his 20s was shot in the chest.
