Knifemen pour bleach over Birmingham burglary victim

A man was dragged down the stairs and had bleach poured over him during a terrifying burglary at his home in Birmingham.

The burglary took place in Vincent Drive, in the Edgbaston area, at around 10.30pm on Wednesday

The man was also kicked and he and a woman were threatened with knives by five men who broke in on Wednesday.

The armed gang threatened the homeowners and demanded money and gold before fleeing with a gold bracelet and an iPhone 6.

Neither of the victims were seriously hurt in the raid which happened in Vincent Drive, Edgbaston, at around 10.30pm .

Pc Amit Talafair, from West Midlands Police's Force CID, said: "We are asking anyone who may have any information on Wednesday’s shocking burglary to get in contact with us.

“I would encourage all local homeowners to check their CCTV in case they have managed to pick up anything and if anyone saw any suspicious behaviour even in the days leading up to the burglary, please speak to us.

“One of the men is described as being around 5ft tall and was wearing a black hoody, black gloves and a blue bandana across his face.

“Another of the men was around 6ft tall and of a stocky build and was also wearing a dark hoody and black gloves.

“We believe some neighbours or passers-by of an east Asian descent heard screaming from the victims and came outside the house and saw the offenders leaving – if this was you, please call us.”
