Man arrested after alcohol stolen in Halesowen supermarket break-in

A man has been arrested after a burglary at a supermarket in Halesowen.

Police were called to the Co-op store, in Bassnage Road, after the doors were smashed at around 11pm on Monday.

A quantity of alcohol was stolen from inside the store.

A man, in his 30s, was stopped by police nearby and was found to be carrying alcohol. He was arrested on suspicion of burglary.

A spokesman from West Midlands Police said: "We were called to reports of a burglary at a Co-op store in Bassnage Road, Halesowen, at 11pm on Monday.

"The doors were smashed and a quantity of alcohol was stolen.

A 35-year-old man was stopped nearby carrying a bag of alcohol and arrested on suspicion of burglary.

"He remains in police custody today."
