Appeal after serious sexual assault in Birmingham
Police have issued an appeal for information after a serious sexual assault in Birmingham.
A woman was walking along Alcester Road, in the Moseley area, in the early hours of the morning when she was followed by a man, who grabbed her and pushed her into an alleyway.
She was seriously sexually assaulted in the attack at around 4am on Saturday, February 8.
West Midlands Police has now released images and description of a man they want to speak to in connection with the attack.
Detective Constable Lee Gouldingay from Public Protection Unit said, "Sexual assaults have significant impacts on their victims and we are appealing for anyone who recognises the man in the pictures to speak to us as soon as possible.
“We have conducted extensive CCTV enquiries and know the man got off the number 50 bus outside the Co-op at 3.15am.
“We are looking for a man described as Asian, approximately 30 years old, stocky build and roughly 5ft 9in. He was wearing all dark clothing and possibly dark blue or black jacket.
"Due to him wearing a cap, facial recognition techniques are difficult, however we believe someone will recognise him and know who he is."
Anyone with information, or recognises the man pictured or described, is asked to call West Midlands Police on 101, quoting crime reference number 20BE/34989R/20.
Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
