Man beaten with wooden fence post in Lichfield

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked with a wooden fence post in Lichfield.

Officers were called to Common Lane, in the Fradley area, shortly before 3.40pm on Thursday afternoon.

They were called to reports that a 39-year-old man had been beaten up with a wooden fence post – causing serious injuries to his arm.

The man was seen by police and taken to hospital.

A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: "Enquiries – including the analysis of local CCTV – are ongoing."

Anyone with information is asked to call Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 408 of April 16.
