Arrest after police officer bitten and spat at in Birmingham
A woman has been arrested after a police officer was bitten and spat at in Birmingham.
Officers were called to Dunbar Close just before 2.30pm to concerns for a woman's welfare.
The woman then allegedly became violent and was arrested, police said.
A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said: "We were called to Dunbar Close in Birmingham just before 2.30pm yesterday, where concerns were raised for the welfare of a 27-year-old woman.
"Upon arrival, the woman became violent and was arrested after she spat at officers.
"She later bit another officer and was further arrested for this offence.
"She remains in police custody this afternoon .
