West Midlands Police has released an image of a man they want to speak to after the incident in Caroline Street, which happened at around 3.40am on March 17.

The burglar used paint and stencils to draw symbols on a wall before stealing a new toilet seat from inside.

However they are not believed to have taken anything else.

A spokesman for the force said: "We want to speak to him about a burglary where the resident's own paint and stencils were used to daub symbols on the wall at a flat in Caroline Street, Dudley, on Tuesday, March 17.

"The offender forced open a boarded-up window to get inside at about 3.40am and left with a new toilet seat still in its box."

Anyone with information about the burglary, or recognises the man pictured, is asked to call West Midlands Police on 101, quoting crime reference number 20DY/72588J/20.

Alternatively, witnesses can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
