CCTV appeal after series of break-ins in Tipton

Police have issued an appeal to trace a suspected burglar after a series of overnight break-ins in Tipton.

Seven homes were targeted in Powis Avenue, Glebefields Road and Arthur Road in the early hours of Friday(20).

The unknown thief forced back doors to enter the properties and made off with a range of items – including cash and jewellery.

The break-ins all took place between 5am and 6.30am on Friday.

Police have now released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incidents.

A spokesman from West Midlands Police said: "After carrying out enquiries we are keen to speak to this man – who we believe to be in his 30s and around 5ft 8ins – 5ft 10ins tall, in connection with the break-ins.

"He was described as wearing a flat cap, a fur lined hooded coat and a black scarf or face covering.

"We are keen to hear from anyone who checks their CCTV footage in nearby roads and noticed any suspicious behaviour in the area too."
