Arrest made after teenage motorcyclist killed in Bloxwich crash
An 18-year-old motorcyclist has died after a crash with a car in Bloxwich
The teenager died at the scene following the crash at the junction of Ingram Road and Valley Road just before 9pm on Friday.
The rider was found with serious injuries but despite the best efforts of medical staff he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A pillion passenger on the KTM motorcycle, a 17-year-old boy, suffered minor injuries.
A 37-year-old man, who was driving a grey Skoda Octavia, was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of drugs.
He has since been releasing pending further investigation.
West Midlands Police is urgently appealing for any witnesses to the crash, or anyone with vital information, to come forward.
Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes, from our Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “A young man has tragically lost his life and left a family devastated. We have specialist officers supporting them at this difficult time.
“We are urgently appealing for anyone with information to contact us. We are particularly keen to hear from anybody who witnessed the collision or saw either vehicle just beforehand.
“We would also ask for anyone with dash cam footage to get in touch as soon as possible.”
