Beacon Community Church in Burntwood has suffered several attacks over the last year, with the latest attack seeing a brick thrown through a window.

The attack took place at the church on Bridge Cross Road on Wednesday, March 11, leaving glass scattered across the floor of the church.

Other attacks have seen cars vandalised outside the church and church-goers intimidated by local youths outside the former No. 7s nightclub.

Pastor Sandy McMeekin spoke about how she wanted to reach out to the people responsible for the attacks.

She said: "I was obviously very disappointed, we are very active in our community and are well known for the help we provide.

"Also a little sad for the person/people who vandalised the church, we would love to meet them to see how we could help them.

"It's a pity, we took this building over a few years ago, it was a nightclub before this and now it's a growing vibrant church."

Anyone with information about the attacks should contact 101, quoting incident number 165 of March 11.
