Man threatened at Birmingham New Street cash point

A man was threatened at a cash point while at Birmingham New Street train station.

An unknown man asked the victim for money while he was using the cash machine late at night.

When the victim declined to give him any money, the suspect grabbed his card before taking the money that had been ejected from the cash machine.

He then also threatened the victim.

The two struggled while the victim tried to get his money back.

British Transport Police has now released an image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident, which took place at around 10.45pm on Monday, January 13.

A spokesman for British Transport Police said: "We are releasing a CCTV image after a man was threatened at a cash point at Birmingham New Street station.

"Officers would like to speak to the man in the image who may have information that could help their investigation."

Anyone who recognises the man is asked to call British Transport Police on 0800 405040 quoting incident number 563 of January 13.
