Park dog poo misery put under the spotlight in online gallery
Fed-up volunteers Cannock Stadium Park have launched an online picture gallery to put the spotlight on anti-social behaviour, littering and irresponsible dog owners.
The Friends of Cannock Stadium Park have created the gallery, which they plan to fill with CCTV images highlighting issues the park has been facing.
The first image uploaded was to focus on someone for letting their dog foul on the pathway - it was captioned "our children play here too".
Chairman of Friends of Cannock Stadium Park, Joe Taylor, said: "We try to keep it tidy and get people to respect the area a bit more.
"We thought if they know we are monitoring it and that it doesn't go unnoticed people might stop.
"It could be anybody doing it.
"We've got kids playing, it's really not nice with dog mess around. We love dogs and dog owners, we just want people to clean up after them."
One resident commented on the first post saying: "I walk my dog here and every morning someone leaves their dogs 'gift' usually in the middle of the path. Today’s offering was blatantly under the CCTV!"
Another added: "Totally agree. Lots of people just turning up in cars to. Need a month of monitoring to catch culprits."
It comes after CCTV had to be installed last year to tackle yobs on dirt bikes spoiling the £1.3 million new-look park by tearing around the revamped site scaring off families.
Council bosses said they had spoken to police after receiving reports about youths riding bikes at the park on Pye Green Road.
