Police say an Audi Q8 car was spotted in Victoria Road, Aston, at around 8.55pm on Monday.

Minutes later the car collided with roadside barriers and a traffic light, in the A34 Walsall Road, near the Scott Arms pub.

A man, a 31-year-old from Perry Barr who was a passenger in the car, was later arrested in Calshot Road.

Another passenger, aged 28, of no fixed address, was also held by police.

Both were arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs with intent to supply.

The driver – a 25-year-old man – was detained on suspicion of drug supply, dangerous driving and failing to stop.

Cash, cannabis and mobile phones were seized by police.

All three men remain in police custody today for questioning.
