Laptops and minibus stolen from Bilston special school
A special school in Bilston was broken into and thousands of pounds worth of laptops and a minibus were stolen.
Thieves broke into Bow Street School over the weekend through a classroom window.
They then smashed inside doors down and stole nine laptops worth £549 each, £200 in cash and the school's only minibus.
Headteacher Clare Harper said the school had to close today until it was made safe for pupils.
She said: "Somebody walking their dog saw the windows were open yesterday and called the police.
"The building had been broken into via an English classroom so it didn't sound the alarm.
"They jumped through the window and stole nine laptops and a cash tin with £200 in.
"The minibus key was taken and then they stole the minibus itself. It's a Vauxhall Vivaro.
"All our children have an education, health and care plan, they are all vulnerable pupils.
"We've never had this happen before.
"We've got emergency people out today to try and fix the doors. It'll cost us £900 to fix the two doors.
"We couldn't have children in today as it wasn't safe for them, but we'll be open tomorrow.
"We want it to look like nothing's happened for them."
