Four arrested on drugs charges after police stop car
Four men have been arrested after thousands of pounds of drugs and three knives were found in a car stopped by police in Smethwick.
Officers stopped the car off Tollhouse Way, at around 9.20pm on Saturday.
Four men, aged between 22 and 25 years old, were all arrested.
While police recovered three knives, thousands of pounds worth of drugs and two vehicles were recovered.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Four men, aged between 22 and 25, were arrested on suspicion of drugs offences.
"Two of the men, aged 22 and 24, were also arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon.
"All four men have been released under investigation as enquiries continue."
Sharing the details on social media, West Midlands Police's Project Guardian Team said: "Great work last night by team two and Central Motorway Police Group colleagues who were involved in an op in the Smethwick area.
"Four males arrested. Three knives recovered – one which was secreted.
"Two vehicles recovered. £,000s worth of drugs seized. And many lives protected!"
