Investigation after five carjacking suspects stopped in Bilston
Five carjacking suspects are in custody after being tracked from Coventry to Wolverhampton.
Two roads were cordoned off last night after police tracked the men and the van they are alleged to have stolen to Bilston.
Residents reported seeing armed police and a dog handler at the scene on Lonsdale Road and St Chads Road.
The suspects are believed to have fled to Bilston after a carjacking in the Wyken area of Coventry where a van was taken at around 3pm yesterday.
West Midlands Police officers later spotted the stolen van and another car believed to have been connected to the robbery travelling on the M6.
Officers tracked them down and caught up with them on St Chads Road, where a large cordon was put in place and Lonsdale Road was searched.
Five men aged between 22 and 36 were arrested on suspicion of robbery and taken into police custody for questioning.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Police were called following a carjacking in Wyken, Coventry, at around 3pm on January 8.
"The stolen van and another car believed to be connected to the robbery were spotted on the M6 and were stopped by officers a short time later in the area of St Chads Road, Bilston.
"Five men, aged between 22 and 36, have been arrested on suspicion of robbery and taken into police custody for questioning."
