Appeal after security guard threatened with knife at New Square shopping centre

A security guard was threatened with a knife at West Bromwich's New Square shopping centre.

Police are trying to chase this man

Police released an image of a man they are trying to find after the incident on November 10 at 3.15pm.

Sandwell Police circulated the image on social media as officers launched an appeal.

A force spokesman said: "We want to talk to him after a security guard was threatened with a knife."

Anyone with information is asked to call West Midlands Police on 101 quoting 20SW/267425T/19.

A shopping centre spokesperson said: “We’d like to encourage anyone who recognises this man to come forward and help the police with their investigations.

"Thankfully the security guard was unharmed, as the man ran away after being confronted during the incident.

"We hope this appeal will help to identify the perpetrator.”
