Man found critically injured four hours after Tipton attack
A man is in a critical condition in hospital after he was attacked in Tipton.
The man was found with a serious head injury just after 11am on Sunday, on Sedgley Road East, and is believed to have been assaulted around four hours earlier.
He was taken to hospital with serious injuries and remained in hospital in a critical condition on Monday morning, West Midlands Police said.
A spokesman for the force said: "Police were called by paramedics to Sedgley Road East, Tipton, just after 11am on Sunday after a man was found with a serious head injury.
"He was taken to hospital with serious injuries and remains in a critical condition today [Monday].
"Officers believe he was the victim of an assault at around 7am on Sunday."
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman added: "We were called at 10:16am on Sunday to Sedgley Road East in Tipton to reports of an assault.
"We sent one ambulance to the scene. We treated one patient, a man, for injuries not believed to be life threatening.
"He was then taken to Sandwell General Hospital for further treatment.”
