Appeal after thefts from cars parked at graveyard

A spate of thefts from cars parked at a Wolverhampton cemetery has sparked a police investigation.

A woman had her handbag stolen along with bank cards and a mobile phone, out of a vehicle parked at Danescourt Cemetery in Tettenhall.

The incident happened on Monday at the burial grounds on Coppice Lane - just off the Wergs Road.

PSCO Nicola Rance, neighbourhood policing officer, said: "There was a theft from a motor vehicle at Coppice Lane Cemetery between 11.20am and 11.42pm on Monday, December 23.

"The offender has approached a parked insecure vehicle and has stolen her handbag, purse, mobile phone, bank cards and driving licence.

"Tettenhall officers regularly patrol this area, as we have had previous similar reports of unsecured vehicles being targeted in this area. Please ensure your vehicle is locked at all times."
