Teenager arrested as police chase ends in moped crash

A moped rider is in custody after allegedly crashing a stolen scooter and swearing at police.

The incident took place in Wallows Road, Brierley Hill, at around 1pm on Friday.

A photograph of the scene showed the scooter lying across a road junction after the crash.

Police dogs were used to capture one of the suspects. Another is on the run as two people were riding the scooter.

The 18-year-old in custody was arrested for motor vehicle theft and possessing cannabis.

Force Response tweeted: "Officers from C unit Brierley Hill saw this stolen moped. Rider & passenger swore at officers as they rode past. Following a short a pursuit they ran.

"Unfortunately for them we had Police Dog Swift working with us. 1 in custody for theft of motor vehicle and possessing cannabis."
