Attempted murder arrest after attack in Dudley alleyway

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after an attack in an alleyway off Dudley High Street.

The victim, a man believed to be aged in his 40s, suffered serious head injuries in the attack on Tuesday evening.

Police cordoned off Rutland Passage, neat Lloyds Bank and The Full Moon, pub at around 6.20pm.

The victim was taken to hospital with serious head injuries.

A 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in police custody today for questioning.

Officers remained at the scene long into the evening as an investigation got under way.

Rutland Passage leads from the high street to King Street.
