A man has denied stabbing a Walsall woman to death at a house

Inderjit Ram, aged 52, is accused of murdering Belinda Rose, 63, at the house in Pendragon Road, Perry Barr, on August 17.

Ms Rose, known as Lyn, lived in Aldridge and had two daughters, her devastated family said.

Ram, wearing a brown jacket and dark sweater, spoke only plead not guilty at Birmingham Crown Court on Friday .

Members of the victim's family sat a few feet away in the public gallery, as he spoke.

Ram, of Wensleydale Road, Great Barr, was remanded in custody for a trial date on February 10, with the hearing likely to last about seven days.

Following Ms Rose's death, her younger sister Yvonne Waterfield, known to family as Von, said she was heartbroken at the loss.
