'Prominent' Wolverhampton gang member locked up

A "prominent gang member" from Wolverhampton has been locked up after ignoring a court order banning him from part of the city.

Jowayne Kesto was handed three months in custody this week after police caught him breaching a criminal behaviour order by being in Skidmore Avenue, Bradmore.

The 19-year-old tried to run but officers managed to detain him.

Wolverhampton Police tweeted saying: "JAILED: A prominent gang member has been put behind bars after alert cops spotted him ignoring a court order banning him from part of the city.

"Jowayne Kesto tried to run from officers after they saw him breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order by being in Skidmore Avenue, Bradmore.

"The 19-year-old didn't get far in his escape bid on Tuesday and was quickly detained.

"Kesto, of Hughes Avenue, Wolverhampton, appeared before magistrates on Wednesday and - having breached a CBO for the second time in just two months - was sentenced to three months in custody."
