Man hit with gun as armed robbers strike three times in West Bromwich

Three men were targeted by armed robbers in West Bromwich on the same day.

In one incident a man was hit over the head with a handgun as he was surrounded by up to six people on a path between West Bromwich Central and Dartmouth Street tram stops.

A knife and a machete were also seen during the robbery which happened on November 19 at around 1pm.

The man was taken to hospital with concussion and injuries to his face but was discharged the same day.

Two other men were also robbed in separate incidents at around the same time where threats were made but no weapons were seen.

British Transport Police is treating the three robberies as linked.

Det Sgt Shanie Erwin said: “These offences are being taken very seriously.

"We have dedicated increased patrols to the area and tasked officers from our Major, Serious and Organised Crime unit to investigate.

“Currently, they are pursuing a number of lines of enquiry, but request the public get in touch with any information that can aid their investigation."
