Arrest after fireworks thrown from car at people in street

A man has been arrested after fireworks were thrown at people in the street.

Police stopped a black Audi in Pedmore Lane, in Brierley Hill, last night.

Officers arrested a man on suspicion of traffic offences and possession of drugs.

The vehicle was seized following the traffic stop at 7.50pm and the man remains in custody today.

It came after reports of fireworks being thrown from the window of a car at people in the street.

Force Response tweeted: "Following reports of occupants of a car throwing fireworks at pedestrians, C unit Brierley Hill have conducted a traffic stop on this vehicle.

"Driver now under arrest on suspicion of causing danger to road users and possession with intent to supply drugs. Vehicle has been seized."

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "A 33-year-old man was arrested on Pedmore Road, Brierley Hill, on suspicion of traffic offences and possession of drugs.

"He remains in custody today."
