Narinder Bhatia, from Stafford, was jailed for 45 months after pleading guilty to supplying and possessing cocaine at the town's crown court.

The 48-year-old was caught dealing drugs from his car near Cowan Drive and Weston Road in the town on December 12 last year.

He was arrested before officers found a throwing knife in the driver's door and a baseball bat in the boot.

A further search of his home uncovered £550 worth of cocaine, £1,070 in cash, digital scales and a deal bag.

Bhatia, also known as Mohammed Aslam and of Darnford Close, Parkside, also pleaded guilty to possessing a knife or blade.

Sergeant Tom Fotherby, of Stafford's neighbourhood policing team, said: “We hope this sends out a clear message that we will not tolerate drug dealing in Stafford.

“This is the third conviction we’ve secured in the last fortnight and we will continue to focus on bringing dealers before the courts.”
