Kyran Frue told police his name was James Cordon (sic) after being searched by police, who noticed a strong cannabis smell outside a block of flats.

Officers had been sent to Aiden Court Road, Lichfield, in a bid to track down another man who had failed to appear at court.

The 20-year-old was searched, with the force finding 26 wraps of crack cocaine and nine wraps of heroin, along with cannabis.

The drugs, mobile phones and £430 were seized.

Police later found the identity of the arrested man was Kyran Frue – rather than Cordon – after carrying out enquiries in the area.

The defendant, of Dudley Road in Rowley Regis, pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs at Stafford Crown Court on October 7.

He was jailed for 25 months for each count, with the sentences ordered to run concurrently.

Pc Stephen Windridge, of Staffordshire Police, said: “We will not tolerate drug dealing in Staffordshire and will continue to work hard to bring those who think they can bring drugs into the county before the courts.”
