Burglars force elderly lady to sit on chair while they raid her home

Three men forced their way into an elderly lady's home before stealing cash and jewellery.

Once inside they made the 70-year-old sit on a chair and searched her house in Goldthorn Park, Wolverhampton.

The woman managed to run to a neighbour's house for help after the burglary which happened at about 3.30pm yesterday.

She was taken to hospital to be checked over where she remains in a stable condition.

House to house inquiries have been carried out by police and CCTV enquiries are underway.

Detective Sergeant Neil Western from force CID, said: “The pensioner is thankfully doing ok, but was very shaken up by the incident and remains in hospital.

“This happened in broad daylight at a busy time of day. I would urge anyone who was in the area at the time who might have witnessed any suspicious behaviour to get in touch.”
