Man, 33, appearing at court after dramatic A460 police chase
A man has been charged after a police car was rammed near Wolverhampton.
Leon Dodd, aged 33, has been charged with assaulting a police constable and dangerous driving
He allegedly carried out the offences in Church Road, Essington, on Saturday morning.
Dodd is also charged with failing to stop after causing damage to a police car.
Police believe he was behind the wheel of a white Seat Leon where he allegedly rammed a police car.
He was pursued along the A460 Cannock Road before driving off to Willenhall, where he dumped the vehicle and fled on foot.
Staffordshire Police launched an appeal following the incident and Dodd was arrested.
Dodd, from Okement Drive, Wednesfield, has been bailed to appear before Cannock Magistrates Court on October 30.
A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: "A 33-year-old man has been charged with assaulting an emergency worker and dangerous driving following an incident in south Staffordshire on Saturday morning (Sept 28).
"Leon Dodd, of Okement Drive, Wednesfield, is also charged with failing to stop after causing damage to a police car in Church Road, Essington.
"The charge of assaulting a police constable and the charge of dangerous driving in a white Seat Leon also allegedly took place in Essington."
