Alleged car thief caught on foot after Cannock to Birmingham police chase
A suspected car thief was chased down on foot by an officer twice his age after a police chase ended on the A41.
The burglary suspect was caught after two cars, one of which was a Ford Kuga, were stolen in the early hours in Cannock, police said.
The Kuga was chased at length before eventually crashing on the A41 in the Birmingham area.
The alleged burglar then tried to flee on foot but was chased down and arrested.
Central Motorway Police Group posted about the incident on Twitter, encouraging the alleged burglar to #GetToTheGymLittleBoy.
Staffordshire Police's Response team also reported a 50-mile police chase following a burglary in Cannock but have not yet confirmed that this was the same incident.
The force has been approached for comment.
