Appeal after driver flees after crash with motorbike in Norton Canes

Police have urged anyone with information about a crash in which a driver fled in Norton Canes to come forward.

The motorcyclist was found on Brownhills Road at about 11.30am on Saturday, but the driver of the car had left the scene before police arrived.

The vehicle is a sliver/blue Ford B Max and the driver is believed to be an Asian male, in his 40s, with a grey beard and wearing a black top.

Paramedics were called to the scene and took the man to New Cross Hospital.

Jamie Arrowsmith, spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "We were called to reports of a collision between a car and a scooter at the junction of Burntwood Road and Brownhills Road in Norton Canes at 11.28am on Saturday morning.

"One ambulance was sent to the scene. On arrival we discovered one patient, a man, who was the scooter rider.

"The patient was treated for multiple injuries at the scene, not believed to be life-threatening, before being transported to New Cross Hospital for further assessment.”
