Drink drive arrest as car hits ambulance in Wolverhampton

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a car crashed into an ambulance on a 999 call in Wolverhampton.

The 25-year-old was arrested after the collision on Cannock Road shortly after 11pm on Saturday night.

The ambulance was on an emergency call when it was involved in the crash.

Fortunately no one was injured in the crash.

The man remains in custody this afternoon.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "A 25-year-old driver has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after a collision between a car and an ambulance on blue lights in Cannock Road, Wolverhampton on Saturday night just after 11pm.

"No injuries were sustained in the collision and the man remains in custody."
