Attempted murder suspect arrested after police officer hit by car in Wolverhampton
A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a police officer was hit by a car in Wolverhampton.
The officer was struck by a BMW after flagging down a speeding driver in the early hours of this morning.
The driver made off from Victoria Street in the city centre, with a rapid response vehicle tracing the car back to an apartment in Newhall Street, Tipton, less than an hour later.
A 22-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and drink-driving and remains in police custody.
A spokesman for Wolverhampton Police said: "Great work by our officers and we wish our injured PC a speedy recovery."
