A 22-year-old man has been taken to hospital with serious stab injuries.

He was attacked at a flat in a block in Roundlea Road, Shenley Fields, around 4.30am today.

A West Midlands Police spokesman say inquiries are ongoing into the attack.

It came hours after a taxi driver was lured to a Birmingham street and then stabbed during a robbery.

The driver went to pick up a passenger in Saxelby Close, Druids Heath, at around 11pm on Saturday.

A man got into the vehicle and then stabbed the driver several times – before fleeing with cash and his mobile phone.

The victim, in his 40s, was taken to hospital with serious hand injuries.
