There has been a spate of six bikes stolen in Cannock and Hednesford in recent days, according to Staffordshire Police.

PCSO Megan McAndrew said at least two people are involved in the thefts, one cutting chains and one driving a van.

She said the bikes have been worth hundreds of pounds including one worth about £800.

She added: "In eight days we've had six bikes stolen, they're going on a bit of a spree at the moment.

"The only bit of CCTV we've been able to recover was from outside DFS, a male offender has cut the chain and cycled off closely followed by someone driving a van.

"We're telling people to secure their bikes as best as we can, and leave them near CCTV if they're in sight or out of sight.

"If they think they're being followed get vehicle registrations too."
