Arrest and charge over string of attempted burglaries in Cradley Heath

A man has been arrested and charged over a string of attempted burglaries in Cradley Heath.

Shane Cartwright, of Cole Street in Dudley, has been charged with five counts of attempted burglary, two counts of vehicle interference and theft from a motor vehicle.

The incidents took place in June, police said.

The arrest and charge came after the force took to social media to appeal to the public for help..

The 37-year-old appeared at Walsall Magistrates' Court on July 26, where he was remanded in custody until his trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court on August 23.

DC James Finnegan, from force CID, said: "Although we have charged a man, we continue to appeal to anyone who may have been a victim of burglary or attempted burglary around the Cradley Heath area in recent weeks to contact us with information."
