Cash stolen during Staffordshire church break-in

A Staffordshire church was broken into and cash was stolen.

Burglars forced their way into St John's Church in Marchington before causing damage and stealing money.

The burglary took place between 3pm on August 1 and 9am on August 2.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forwards.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: "Between 3pm on August 1 and 9am on August 2 unknown persons have forced entry into St. John's Church, Marchington Woodlands where they have caused damage and stolen money from inside.

"We are appealing for anyone with any information to contact us via 101 or digital 101 quoting police incident number 176 of August 2 or alternatively contact anonymously CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111."
