Man, 78, pinned to the floor as masked raiders steal bus pass and phone
Masked raiders left an elderly man badly bruised and needing hospital treatment after a "terrifying" attack at his home.
The criminals assaulted the vulnerable pensioner after forcing their way into his Stafford property on Sunday.
The 78-year-old victim was pushed and pinned to the floor by one of the men, while two others scoured his home on the outskirts of the town centre.
A bank card, bus pass and mobile phone were stolen, while the man suffered bruising to his arms, hands and ribs and was taken to hospital.
Staffordshire Police has now released pictures of the man’s injuries after the burglary happened at around 11.45am.
Detective Constable Kenneth Cox, from force CID, said: “This was a terrifying attack on a vulnerable man in his own home and we are keen to hear from anyone who may be able to help us catch those responsible.”
One suspect, who is described as average build and 6ft 1ins, was wearing a black balaclava, goggles, a black waist-length jacket, black trousers and black woolly gloves.
The other two male suspects were wearing dark clothing and scarves over their faces.
