Arrests made after armed police find revolver in car
Three men have been arrested and a revolver recovered after armed police stopped a car in West Bromwich.
Officers, acting on intelligence, pulled over a car on Hollyhedge Road at around 3am today.
Inside the Mercedes they found a revolver, a baton and "a number of knives".
Three men, aged 18, 22 and 23, were arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and remain in police custody.
DCI Ronan Tyrer, from the Regional Organised Crime Unit, which is leading the investigation, said: “This is a great recovery and shows our determination to tackle gun crime around the clock.
“Guns cause untold misery in communities. It’s vital that people who have information on those who use or have access to guns give us the information we need so that we can continue to bring criminals to justice.”
