Police investigation after early hours 'shooting' in Oldbury
A man has been taken to hospital after shots were reportedly fired on a street in Oldbury.
Police were called to Tudor Road just before 3am this morning after reports of gunfire.
The man suffered minor injuries to his hand, however officers believe his injuries were not a result of the shooting.
A police cordon was in place throughout Saturday morning on Tudor Road, close to Defford Road, as officers searched the scene.
Neighbours described hearing loud bangs and the squeal of car tyres as the incident unfolded.
A resident of Tudor Road, who did not wish to be named, said: "I heard something which sounded loud.
"It sounded like gunfire – like shots were being fired.
"I got woken up by it.
"I saw a car go past, which had one of its doors open – and two young men ran towards it.
"With the way society is going, with knife crime and gun crime going up, it's something in this area that's very concerning.
"It's pretty much on your doorstep, but this street is usually quiet and peaceful."
'Normally quiet'
Tom Pressdee, who lives on the road, said: "I got back about 6am and the police were still here and had blocked all of the road off.
"It's normally quiet around here – there's quite a lot of family homes, so obviously it's not the greatest of circumstances to have."
Investigations are ongoing, police said.
