Suspected car thief bailed after police chase
A suspected car thief has been released pending further investigation after an officer was injured during a police chase.
Two police vehicles were rammed as officers tried to recover a stolen van.
The incident began when police were called to reports of a man breaking into cars in Autumn Drive in Lower Gornal yesterday morning.
A 43-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle has been released by police on conditional bail.
Officers are continuing to investigate the incident.
