Officers made one arrest and recovered wraps of drugs, cash, a pair of scissors and two mobile phones.

The arrests came as officers took part in Project Guardian which aims to reduce serious violence including knife crime.

Plain cloth police were walking the streets on Saturday afternoon when they saw the drug deal take place.

The officers were taking part in a joint operation, between British Transport Police, West Midlands Police and Staffordshire Police, which is aimed at tackling knife crime.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "One in custody from today’s joint operation [between Staffordshire Police, British Transport Police and Wolverhampton Police] to tackle knife crime.
