The 25-year-old was walking home along Gospel Oak Road just before 12.25am on June 23 when he was struck by a small black car which sped off.

The man was taken to hospital but has since been discharged and is now recovering a home.

And now officers have urged people to come forward and share any dash-cam footage after they trawled through CCTV.

Sergeant Liam Hemmings, from the force’s traffic unit, said: "We need to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time but not spoken to us already. I’d also ask if anyone has any dashcam footage from the area on that evening to get in touch.

"We are trying to piece together what happened in the lead up to this collision as our enquiries continue."

Anyone with information is asked to contact police via live chat online between 8am and midnight or call on 101 anytime, quoting log number 71 of June 23.
