Man charged over stabbing in Lichfield
A 59-year-old man has been charged with stabbing a 48-year-old man in Lichfield.
Mark Scarrett of Matthews Avenue, Burntwood, has been remanded into custody following the attack in Broadbent Close at around 4am on Saturday.
The victim suffered a stab wound to his abdomen. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening and remains in hospital in a stable condition.
Scarrett has been charged with wounding with intent, possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and criminal damage.
West Midlands Ambulance Service sent one ambulance and a paramedic officer to the scene.
An ambulance spokesman said: "We were called to reports of an assault. We treated one person, a man, for multiple injuries which were not believed to be life-threatening.
“He was taken to hospital for further treatment.”
