Man, 21, charged over Dudley High Street stabbing

A 21-year-old man has been charged with stabbing a 17-year-old boy in Dudley town centre on Saturday.

Giovanni Campbell, of Reservoir Road, Blackheath, appeared Dudley Magistrates court this morning charged with wounding with intent.

The victim was attacked on Dudley High Street at around 4.55pm and taken to hospital with injuries which were serious but not thought to be life-threatening.

Campbell has also been charged with robbery and making threats with a bladed weapon in public.

A police cordon was set up outside a Co-operative Travel store following the attack.

Campbell was arrested later on Saturday. He was remanded into custody and will appear at Wolverhampton crown court on July 29 for trial.
