Nine arrests after attempted car thefts and burglaries in South Staffordshire

Two men and seven teenagers have been arrested after a number of attempts to car thefts and burglaries in South Staffordshire.

The alleged criminal activity took place over Monday night in Wombourne and Featherstone.

In the first incident, there were reports of people in gardens in Clee View Road, Wombourne, just before 1am on Tuesday.

Two 16-year-olds were arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary and a 15-year-old and 18-year-old were arrested on suspicion of burglary.

All are from the Dudley area and remained in custody on Tuesday afternoon.

In a second incident, two men reportedly tried to break into a car at 2.45am in Huddlestone Close, Featherstone.

Officers arrested five people nearby in Cat and Kittens Lane on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle..

The arrests were of four teenagers, aged 15, 16, 17 and 17, and one man aged 20.

All were from the Wolverhampton area and were also in custody on Tuesday afternoon.
