Men critically injured in Cannock DFS crash remain in hospital

Two men who were critically injured after a car overturned and crashed into a DFS store remain in hospital.

The crash happened at the DFS store, off the Longford island in Cannock, in the early hours of May 24.

A white VW Scirocco lost control on the island and ploughed into the front of the furniture store.

The crash happened at around 3.45am and parts of the nearby A5 were closed for eight hours in the aftermath.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), which is investigating the incident, previously confirmed an unmarked police car gave chase after two cars overtook it moments before the crash.

The IOPC investigation continues.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said the two injured men remain in hospital today for treatment.

No arrests have been made.

Witnesses are asked to contact Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident 71 of May 24.
