Teenager stabbed outside Rugeley primary school
A teenager was stabbed near a primary school in Rugeley this afternoon.
Detectives are investigating after the 18-year-old man was found with a stab wound in Sandy Lane at around 2pm.
He was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital for treatment but his injuries are not thought to be life changing or life threatening, Staffordshire Police said.
Officers have since arrested a 17-year-old boy and a 28-year-old man, both from Stafford, on suspicion of assault GBH with intent.
A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said the force was treating the stabbing as an isolated incident and that there was not believed to be any threat to the community.
The attack happened close to Churchfield C.E. Primary Academy in Sandy Lane, which prompted school leaders to send a message out reassuring parents and carers.
A spokesman for the school said on its Facebook page earlier today: "You may be aware of an incident outside school today. This was not witnessed by the children in school. At no time was there a risk to the children and the school was not placed on lockdown.
"Please collect as normal at the end of the day. The police may still be present."
