Teen chased through park by gang with weapons
Armed police descended on a street after a teenager was chased through a park by a gang carrying weapons.
Police say a group chased the teenager through Radley's Park, in Small Heath, on Saturday afternoon.
Group members later got onto the number 17 bus, in Hob Moor Road, just before 6pm.
Nine teenagers, all aged under 18, were detained by police on suspicion of carrying an offensive weapon.
They have all been released pending further inquiries.
A number of weapons were recovered from the bus and seized by police.
Officers are investigating and are trawling CCTV and conducting forensic analysis.
Detective Inspector Jim Church from Force CID, said: "We’re working hard to determine the circumstances around what happened.
"It’s completely unacceptable for people to be carrying weapons and we’re determined to robustly tackle this sort of crime.
"We'd ask that anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything contacts us as soon as possible."
